Tomáš Prchal

Wormhole

11th of July - 10th of August 2014

Gallery 35M2, Víta Nejedlého 23, Praha 3

Admission: free

Open: mon-fri 10 a.m. - 7 p.m., sat-sun 12 - 7 p.m.

This Žižkov gallery is presenting Tomáš Prchal, a graduate student of Academy of Arts in Prague until the middle of August. It is actually a good idea to see his paintings (Punishment, Last but One Judgement) being exhibited in the National Gallery of Arts in Prague (as part of AVU graduates presentation) parallel to this show in order to get the broader sense of his work.
Wormhole will take you into two rooms both covered in black plastic. First room serving like a shrine with images of a young man (a self-portrait?) in the centre and many notes that have most likely been forming the centre stage around his creation, underscored by his personal manifesto consisting of 115s of musts of an artist.
We can consider the second room which is again all covered in black as the wormhole itself, where the beholder should remained seated for couple of minutes to have his eyes adapted to the lower light (and if not, then an smartphone light might help) to have what's inside of the hole revealed.
